I am hoping to get some recent guidance for a weekend award stay in NYC at a Category 4 hotel. Will be first night away from the baby (9 month old) so want something decent, but hopefully will have some other trips coming up so didn't want to burn too many points. I had been disappointed with a paid stay at Essex House, so am considering Westin Times Square despite awful location. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Sorry in advance if this ground has been covered before.

The Westin Times Square is actually in a pretty good location -- the neighbourhood has really changed! Excellent subway access, lots of nice stores nearby and few not so nice ones, good view. It has become my favourite *wood in NYC based on price/performance and having great rooms. Not lavish but good.

This post should be the post to end all previous posts on "Where do stay in NYC?"

Maybe this is so requested, it should become a sticky, right along with "Where's good SPG to Stay in Hawaii?"

Or better yet, it could be added to the existing sticky titled "Starwood Forum FAQ: A Collection of Flyertalk Wisdom About Starwood & SPG." @:-)

I agree with Kathy - PLEASE don't add another sticky. ^
