leading on from an earlier post, which hotel has the best executive lounge ? :-

I have just stayed at the Sheraton in Edinburgh, nice, plush, but small lounge, attentive staff and had some nice drinks, breakfast sufficient but not that clever. Open 5pm - 7pm and 7am - 9am

I do like the lounges and would vote the Sheraton Dubai creek one of the best I have been to, unlimited free drinks, hot snacks all day, just fantastic, open all day

So what was your best, and why? (I want to try some of them ;) )

The lounge in Toronto and Montreal are both excellent. They offer amazing views of the city. Toronto skyline is better though. Each offers a computer terminal with FREE internet access. Breakfast is also above the standard.

My favorite is the Sheraton Saigon where they even have their own chef cooking for those using the facility.

The best I have experienced has been the Westin Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok. Staff works very hard, free wi-fi and food out all day long. I am sure there are nicer lounges but the servic in this one is great and it never really gets too crowded.

Westin Tokyo.

Amazing "Lost in Translation" style view, free wireless internet, large and well furnished. Tasty snacks in the evening, and pleasant hot buffet for beakfast that also features excellent pastries and breads. Free drinks for two hours in the evening, with table service and a nice selection including cognac. The staff on the club level desk outside are very helpful, and will find things out or print documents for you as you eat or drink inside (boarding passes, train times, instructions on how to reach things).

I am sure that I have not stayed at as many different properties in as many different locales as some of you have, but I would put the Westin Diplomat lounge up against most. For one thing, it is open on the weekends, which it seems most are not. Lox and bagels on Sunday morning in the lounge while looking out over the Atlantic Ocean in 70 degree weather in February is tough to beat!! ^ ^

The Sheraton Moriah Tel Aviv, though I wouldnt say the hotel is that amazing, has a fantastic lounge-prob not the best in the world, but i would say I expected a lot less. Sure breafast in the lounge isn't free. BUT, what is free is a fantastic dinner, a huge spread of Israeli salads, cheeses, soup, hot dishes, breads, and tons of food, plus wine. I had several friends over, one night I think I even had four or five people there with me, without a problem. During the daytime, they have free soft drinks, bottled water, tons of great cookies and snacks, coffee/cappacino, and a beautiful beach view.

Unfortuinetely, the hotel went up from cat 1 to cat 2 this year. I stayed there twice last summer, got upgraded 1 of the 2 times to a Jr Suite, but had to call and request it twice...
