I will be taking a flight from SNA - LAS - SNA in (first soon) ..
any ideas as to what I can expect on the flight??

Keep in mind that I only have experience flying in and out of SNA to PHX so some of this information won't be totally accurate....

The check-in counters are just to the west of the west security checkpoint. You can either do a self check-in (even if you have checked bags) or use a counter agent. Depending on the time of day the security lines can either be very short or very long (and I'm sure that you have plenty of experience with this at SNA). HP usually uses the gates directly across from the security checkpoint. For the most part it seems that early morning and early evening are the busiest times during the week.

In LAS you'll find the situation a bit more hectic. Fortunately you don't have to take the train to the HP gates and the security checkpoint doesn't seem to back-up nearly as much as it does for the WN and UA gates. Keep in mind, though, that LAS can have some really nasty weather delays and is famous for horrible lines on Sunday afternoon.
