Hilton HHonors - Tampa HGI's Know How to Treat a Gold!

Have to say I am most impressed with the Hilton Garden Inns in the Tampa, FL area. Was at the HGI North Tampa last night and am at the HGI Tampa East/Brandon this evening.

At both locations, automatically upgraded to a two room parlor suite. And they're sweet. ^ 3rd (of 5) floor center at North Tampa and 6th (top) corner end at Tampa East.

Offered water at check-in at North Tampa (accepted) and received one continental breakfast coupon (just me staying) and the $5 pantry coupon. Upgraded to full breakfast for $2.17. Cooked to order eggs and pancakes, french toast, belgian waffles. Also had pre-made scrambled eggs (very good), sausage, bacon, and biscuits with sausage gravy. Melon and pineapple were fruit choices, along with cereals, yogurts, and breads.

At HGI Tampa East, received two full breakfast coupons, one continental breakfast coupon, $5 pantry coupon, and two waters coupon. The last three were in a little envelope with my name and a personal greeting from the front desk team, so looks like this property gives Golds (and by extension, Diamonds) the hot breakfast for free. ^ Other options are 25% off lunch or dinner or two complimentary drinks, so these might be Diamond amenities...

Both are in Business Parks, so quiet on the weekend. Both are also close to I-75 (the Tampa East immediately off). Both have pools.

If you're in Tampa, and like HGIs, these two get thumbs up if a Gold (or Diamond). Both hotels will be getting letters of praise when I get home.

I can highly recommend Ybor City as well. Top notch management, friendly staff and ... oh yeah ... the pantry coupons included beer during my stay. :D

I stayed at Ybor City last June too as a Silver and was given a room on the top floor, along with water in the room, and $5 pantry coupon. Staff was indeed very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is also only a block or two away from the TECO Streetcar. This provides a nice easy, low cost way to get downtown. I used the streetcar to reach the St. Pete Times Forum for a Shania Twain concert. What a great way to avoid the huge traffic nightmare when the concert let out. :)
