We've never used a tele-conferencing product (like WebEx) for meetings before. But due to some geographical issues with some members of our team, we will need to use such a product. However, I'm completely unfamiliar with the landscape: what are the best (and cheapest?) products out there?

We will need to share documents (mainly PDFs) and possibly go through a powerpoint together.

You can try

http://main.placeware.com/

http://www.raindance.com (which is very good :))

And of course, WebEx

as obvious as it may sound, have you tried netmeeting ?

It will only cost you for the duration of the time you are online, depending on the package you get with your ISP

I gotta say after using webex for six years or so, I have started to use placeware more and more often and like it a lot.

We use Webex through Intercall (http://www.intercall.com) and have been quite happy with the result. They offer a pay-as-you-go option for Webex use, which Webex dis not offer at the time we made the decision. Pricing is the same as with Webex.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I'll check those out.

I found this site called "Infinite Conferencing (http://www.infiniteconferencing.net/)" that charges $.15/minute. Is anyone familiar with it?

I'm also looking for a tele-conferencing system in Asia. Our offices are spread across different countries. Any good systems specifically for Asia?

Used to use a system in the U.S. that had everyone dial into a local number. The system my company in Asia is using requires one person initiating all the calls and has a limit on the number of people that can join. And the quality isn't good.

I'm going to look at the suggestions so far, but are they U.S. centric?

Try calling Raindance, they are also a phone company, and have very good rates

I have been quite happy with Webex use, but I don't know about the cost since we had a corporate account.
