I received my paper Activity summary today (woefully out-of-date already- why am I looking at activity from Oct-Dec 2004 on March 2, 2005?).
There is an offer for a free year's subscription to TRAVEL + LEISURE, TRAVEL + LEISURE GOLF, or FOOD & WINE if you reserve through the website and pay with an AMEX card (Book by March 31, 2005 and complete stay by April 30, 2005). I'll take the free subscription, but what's with the website? Hilton.com isn't good enough?

Huh, I got that statement about a month and a half ago, mid Jan.
I think they are going for Internet notoriety through proliferation... on domain names. I think many companies take this route.

I don't know how often I hear "I didn't know Embassy(or Doubletree or Hampton) was part of Hilton hotels." With some family members  I've explained the Hilton Family tree 4 times or more to no avail!
So I think it is an ongoing challenge for Hilton to develop a unified brand identity across their various product offerings, and using this domain name seems like a perfectly sensible and cheap way to do help in that endeavor.
(People find it easier to remember that Saab is part of GM, Ford owns Mazda, and Chrysler and Mercedes are now unified by more than their logos.)

Saab is a part of GM? ;)
What's even stranger IMO is when you input hiltonfamily.com it goes to
http://hiltonworldwide.hilton.com/en/ww/hiltonfamily.jhtml#
Let's have lots of websites! What is this, a new type of parallel computing for bookings? ;)

Notenut, I just received my statement on March 2, too. I always receive these infrequent statements very late-never within a month of the closing date. :td: I can't figure out what that's about! Some of the published "offers" are almost expired by the time the statement arrives. I do watch my account via the web to keep an eye on what's going on.
