Ok my travel plans changed so now for that week rental in April at ALB, I have to pick up the car on Monday, Apr. 18 at 7PM, and drop off Sunday 24th, at 10 PM, my rate is $237.79 with all taxes for a Full Size car using CDP:080 AAA, and a free one car class upgrade coupon: 928653, so what I was wondering is this a good type to get a upgrade, is there a good chance I would be upgraded? Is that the best rate I can do?
I am a Hertz Gold Member.
So I was wondering about those questions and it would be helpfull if I could have some advise,
Thanks alot

I'd expect a Crown Victoria or Grand Marquis in your stall... They're probably the least liked Premiums, so for a weekly rental, that is what I'd expect you will get.

I would really like a YG, like the Avalon, or G35, would the coupon apply for YG rentals?
Should I just ask at the counter, and at Albany,NY airport, its just a gold counter, so when you said stall, it would be the same in my case were they would assgin me the car and I would show my licence and then get the keys and be on my way, correct?
So thanks for repling SEA_Tigger.
And whom ever could help me out that would be apreciated.

Avalons and G35s are now Class H. They slot between Premiums (G) and Luxury (I), but usually cost more then I (about $70 a weekend day at SEA).
For a week rental, an upgrade to those is not going to happen, to be honest.
They gave me an Avalon at SEA for a Friday rental, which I had them extend for three days (I had a Premium rental for Sat-Sun), but I am a PC member and a frequent renter at SEA, which no doubt helped me greatly.

I agree with Tigger - you're probably going to be offered a Crown Vic. I don't think time of day will be a major factor unless they are running short on cars from Monday morning pickups. (In which case, showing up an hour or two earlier won't matter.) Since it's a Gold counter, you can try the "Do you have anything other than a Crown Vic?" line. They might surprise you with something else - maybe a nice YF, maybe an SUV - or they might not. There have been times when I've been using an upgrade PC, they have nothing but C.Vics, and I've simply asked them to downgrade my rental one car-class and give me a Taurus. They have been happy to do that for me in the past.
I wouldn't get your hopes up for an Infiniti.
As for the rate itself, if you want Hertz #1 Club Gold service and at a premium car, that sounds like a good rate at first glance. (e.g., It's a decent F weekly rate without a dollar-discount code because you're using an upgrade code instead.) If car class and cost are the driving factors (above the convenience of #1 Club Gold), you can always look at other agencies, Priceline, etc.

Actually, I've rented a C during the week and been upgraded to a G35. Also have rented a C during the week and been upgraded to a Town Car. At the time, I was just a regular Gold member (no 5 Star or PC).

I never bother with Hertz upgrades, personally I would recommend using a coupon for $$$ off (like this offer (http://www.hertz.com/special_07/milespointsavings04.jsp?ex=3)) instead of the upgrade. If you do want to stick with the upgrade, I would drop the reservation down to a C and take the upgrade from that instead of taking it from an F.

Were these one day rentals, or weeklies?
I have often been kicked up a few car classes for a weekend rental or a one day weekday rental. It's a cheap way for the station to build a little loyalty when demand for the car class is light. And some stations by default upgrade PC members to Prestige, regardless of rate (I am hoping TPA is one of them, tomorrow).
But I doubt they'd give it out for a whole week when they could probably rent it at least once at the going rate, and use it as an upgrade for a frequent renter at other times.
But then, every station has their own peculiarities... My HLE would probably give me a Prestige for a month on a compact rate if they had one in stock and I asked, but then they really, really like me. :)

I have gotten very, very generous upgrades from MCO and TPA as both a Five-Star and a PC. Weekend rentals of course, but still...a very nice touch.
One weekend at MCO, we needed two cars to haul family around. One 3-day rental on a dirt-cheap weekend rate with a free day coupon. The other a 1-day rental, so I used a ZE1 award certificate. The cars ended up being a Lincoln and a Jaguar. :D Only bummer is that we weren't actually using the cars hardly at all - I think we put about 50 miles on each...
I have never gotten Prestige at TPA, but on my standard midsize rental, they usually offer me my choice of YF's and occasionally a convertible.

The G35 was a 2 day rental at SEA, and the Town Car was a 2 day rental at GSO.

I just booked a weekend Premium at GSO for mid-May ($25 a day, it seems silly to book a Full Size for $5 less), so a Town Car would be sweet.

What would be a nice YF? also what is the LeSabre?

That's what came up. Friday morning pickup, Sunday evening drop-off, using AAA as the CDP and a $25 off coupon, so the third day is free.
Rates do change. I booked my TPA res for tomorrow four weeks ago at $38 a day. The rate now is $58. *shrug*
