Las Vegas - Any Suggestions for First Timer to Vegas in MAY??

I'm sending my sister and her husband to LAS for their 40th in May, all expenses paid including food and shows. Doing a long weekend 4-5 nights.

Anyone know of any deals and which hotels would be good for the first time? I'm not a big LAS fan, and the last time I went I stayed in Lake Las Vegas at the Ritz (it was a conference)

Suggestions would be much appreciated - including which current shows and restaurants.

Am I better off prepaying for the hotel or giving them the money?

Thanks in advance

While there's nothing wrong with cash, since it's a gift I suspect the receivers would appreciate the thought and effort you put into making special arrangements for them.

Re: accomodations, since you're a *wood plat, how about arranging something at the one of the *wood properties in LAS, either the Westin or the Aladdin? I've stayed at the Aladdin and the rooms are nice and it's got a great Strip location. The Westin has gotten good reviews in recent months (they apparently had some hiccups for a while after they opened). It's located just a long block or so off the Strip.

As to shows, one of the current Cirque du Soleil engagements might be perfect. I saw Mystere at Teasure Island and it was excellent.

You can get the Westin on Priceline for around $75 most nights.
