Air New Zealand Air Points - How long for trips on OS to post into AP?

Hi all,
The topic says it all. How long does it take for trips on OS to post into AirPoints? My outbound trip was more than a week ago and it still has not posted. Do I have to wait for two full months before contacting AirPoints for missing mileage?

I will actually make it to NZ AP Silver if the trips were posted properly. Should I mention it to AP if I have to end up mailing in the boarding passes so that hopefully they hasten up the investigation process?

Thanks to anyone for any info.

It takes a long time these days - they're behind with everything due to the ap changes. I'd wait it out a bit longer but send it in after 4 weeks or so.

Do you need the S status soon for a particular reason (e.g. travel you want to UG?)

Has anyone noticed delays in posting of domestic express flights ?

Yes, it's taking years...(oh wait, I don't earn any points on those :p )

Thanks to everyone who has replied. OK. Here is the latest scoop. My flights were OS7 SIN-MEL on 19th Feb and OS8 MEL-SIN on 24th Feb. OS8 was posted into my AP account today but OS7, the earlier outbound flight was still not posted. At check-in at SIN, my boarding pass has something on it that just says "NZ". Ex-MEL, there was "NZP". I assume that OS uses the same check-in software as LH. Usually on LH, back then when I was with UA, miles will only be credited promptly and properly to UA if there is "UAP" on the boarding pass. Anyway, at this time now, I am just short of 4.50 AP$ to make it to NZ Silver. Should I still wait or send in the SIN-MEL boarding pass for missing credit today? My experience ex-SIN previously with LH flights and crediting to UA is that most of the time, the check-in agent at SIN messes things up.

BTW, most of my NZ international flights usually post within 1-2 days after the flights were taken.

I would wait another week or two. In my experience the time for posting of partner miles can be quite variable and its only just over a week since your flight.

I wouldnt read anything into the different code appearing on the boarding pass. It shows up differently on pretty much every airline checking me in.

On a similar vein does anyone know what the deal is with BMI / LHR and getting NZ points registered. I have trips dating back to December and January still not showing and over the last 6 months have always had to write in to get the points recognised. Even more confusing is that I have returns from Madrid and Paris showing up but not the departures from LHR. Is it just me or is there something amiss in the UK?

there is definitely something very amiss-- neither me nor my partner have had any BD flights post automatically since about half way through last year...

bit of a longshot, but this sudden difficulty having points show up in my accout happened at the time our cards were re-issued with a zero at the front of the seven digit number.. i'll try this week using the check-in kiosk crediting to NZ and only enter the old-stylie number in the booking and not sticking my card in the machine...

i'm sure you're all waiting with baited breath!

(of course, if the promised 'travel chaos' happens tomorrow this won't happen..)

Well, my Airpoints number starts with 09XXXXXX. Online it appears as 9XXXXXX but I can login with or without the zero. I believe the check-in agent at SIN might have re-entered the number with a 0 in front although I gave OS the number starting with 9 rather than 0 into the booking.

Stewardo, any joy.

I contacted BMI and they advised that all my flights had a "error in Airpoint reference" notation and I just received this email from AirNZ...

"Our partner airline has provided your Airpoints number as being 9****7 instead of the name of your Airpoints account number which is: 9****79. This has caused an electronic rejection of the Airpoints Dollars accrual."

Since I enter it when I but the ticket I know I put it in right...so I am assuming BMI have a problem accepting an 8 digit number and just drop the last number off. Of course if you don't put in the 0 the machines don't accept your card.... Same applies to the check in counter when they swipe. 0 in last number off.

Of course knowing the problem doesn't fix it.....anyone got any ideas?

Unfortunately not -- at check-in I was sent over to BA because my BD flight was delayed or cancelled or whatever seems to happen quite often when I need to get somewhere...

Am using SQ tomorrow and will try again!

So it seems that it is at least with bmi something to do with the new leading zero on our membership cards... a potential solution may be to check in with an old Jade card (if you still have it) which as well as not having the first zero also has no expiry date, just "member since 97" or whatever.

Of course then you may not get the huge benefit of a star alliance priorty tag - or even have to face the HUGE economy queues at LHR term1

No such luck....I burnt my Silver as soon as my Gold arrived.

Also, I'm not sure its just BD. I had problems with UA in December and I note that a recent trip back to NZ (end of Feb) on NZ hasn't been processed either, so am wondering if it is a UK wide check-in problem. :(

Well, about 1.5 weeks ago, I sent in the boarding pass and the ticket receipt to the Air NZ CTO at SIN for forwarding to the Airpoints Centre at CHC. It appears that my missing points were credited yesterday. That seems pretty fast. ^

My online account shows that I now need 0.00 Qualifying Airpoints to reach Silver Status, but the status still remains as Jade. I guess the status will only change at the beginning of April?

Do Silver AP members have access to the green premium seats at the front of the standard Y cabin?

That's right on both counts.

Well, it is now 1st April, my missing miles have been credited since mid-March, but the online statement still shows "Jade" as my status. Does anyone know approximately when in the beginning of each month the status change occurs for AP members who qualify for a new status? Thanks.

If you did not recieve your NZ*S membership kit [Fits in a standard envelope] from NZ your membership will start at the beginning of May now, contray to what the Airpoints membership guide says.

I've never really properly understood the status qual/requal system

Well, I finally received my Silver card two days ago. Nice design :)
Status kicks in on 15th April. So it looks like status change generally occurs on the 1st and on the 15th of each month.
