I'm going with gfriend on trip. I'm gold, she's nothing. Do we need to book seperate and go to airport as easiest way for upgrade (so I'm upgraded and then fight for her). Or both get there on same reservation so computer will do it automatically?

You need to book her on your rez. On such as rez, the highest status determines priority for upgrades. Once you've bought the ticket (this is italized for a reason... don't to the following until after you have bought the ticket and gotten a rez confirmation), then do a "Apply upgrades" and get yourselves into the queue. Since you are GP, if there are seats open, you both will clear at the 3 day window.
