I know this has come up before, but with search down ...
As I understand it, Marriott does not allow an individual to have more than one account, and points are not transferrable between accounts, with the following exception:
If I need more points for an award than I have in my account, the balance can be transferred in from my spouse's account. For example, I have 125,000 points in my account, my spouse has 50,000: if I want an award that costs 150,000 points, I can call Customer Service and they can transfer the remaining needed 25,000 points from my spouse's account (or vice versa). Do I have it right? Is this the only method or condition under which points can be transferred?
Btw -- how do they verify that my "spouse" is actually my spouse?
