Other Middle East and Africa Frequent Flyer Programs - bkk-hkg (one way) Need help

Hi, Can anyone tell me how Ethiopian Airlines service is. Fromm bkk-hkg nedd 1 way and they are cheapest ones. Also any idea where to buy there tickets at/ On their website it shows hkg-bkk but nowhere bkk-hkg even though expedia and other websites show their flight. Expedia is charging $23.00 to mail paper ticket on top of $10.00 sevice fee (2 tickets) on a $99.00 fare. Please help. Thank you

My experience with ET is that they are not so reliable with on-time performance. I'd try EK--you can book it online with them, and it's not too expensive. Also good is AY, GF, KQ. All are reasonably cheap. Skip Orient Thai--long delays are common with them also.
I went to the EK web site, www.emirates.com and you can book with them, e-ticket, tax included for 5,090 baht (about $125), and you can even credit miles to UA. I'd do that if I were you, then you don't have to deal with a paper ticket, etc. I used this web site for a HKG-BKK round trip ticket in December, no problems at all.

Trying ET is on top of my list. I did KQ in C this week, thinking of doing a mini trip report. Anyway, it all went fine.

AFAIK ET and KQ are the same price, but KQ flies the route 4x weekly. As a GE with NW I get 7000 miles for this trip. For a USD 300 ticket that is almost a MR!
BTW, the tickets are cheaper ex-BKK.

ASA GF joins WP I will try them too. :p

where do you get those prices, folks? ITA software shows KQ as 3 times more expensive then EK, etc. return ($600+). :confused:

I guess I'd recommend calling AW Business Travel Center in BKK. I've also been told that TV-Air is good. I'd call them rather than email, since reply time can be slow.
Both offer discounts on lots of routes, so I think they'd be able to help you.

To be honest, I'd pretty much ignore ITA and call an agent...... Most of the carriers on this route (KQ, ET, AY, GF, EK, UL, CI, etc) use BKK-HKG-BKK as a 5th Freedom route, so they offer huge discounts to local agents.
