Hello to all in the US Airways Forum. I am a tried and true UA flyer but they don't fly to BZE. Trying to stay within the *Alliance family I booked on US. Here is the scenario.
My fiancee and I are on a flight to BZE in March. We are deaprting from two different airports but connecting in CLT to BZE. When I booked the tickets I asked for a seat assignments out of CLT but was told it is under airport control. I then asked about upgrading and was told I couldn't upgrade using UA miles. I understood this already, but clarified about purchasing an upgrade in advance or at the gate. I have purchased at the gate previously for $150.
My questions:
1. Is it typical on US for seat assignemnts to be under airport control more than a month out?
2. Can you purchase upgrades (coupon books) prior to departure?
