US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Maybe Management Does Listen to This Board

A while back there was a thread and discussion about ABE looking like a ghost town and that someone in the future would use it like SWA has used other secondary airports to develop market drawing from PHL and EWR. Maybe US's managment listened.

Many of us assumed US would let it go being preoccupied with their transformation, but it was recently announced that starting in April they are adding two additional flights a day to CLT. No non-stop flights to FL airports or Boston, but it is a start and gives US a step up getting the FLL and Tampa travlers who had been used to non-stop flights with SE. ^

It was also recently announced that US would begin one flight a day from AVP-CLT beginning in April. I doubt that was a result of my whining on this board, but perhaps it is a result of management finally getting wise to the fact that they were losing too many customers out of AVP because most US connections are forced through PHL nowadays, and people are therefore booking away from US.

COOL!

I'm now really glad that I waited to book my family's flights to MCO in June. I hated the thought of driving to PHL early in the morning. The whinning, complaining, the are we there yets. And my kids would complain too. ;)

It would be helpful if management would reconsider the three-tier US Airways Club membership scheme, and revert to a single class of memberships.

I'm sirprised they haven't considered a BGR-CLT flight (bangor for those of you non-mainers) .

At this point you'd have to double connect for a lot of caribbean flights from Maine.

No they do not need to reconsider that. They this is something I am glad that they do to give back to their most loyal customers.

I'm happy with that too. But I do see something regularly that bothers me. The BOS club has been very quiet whenever I go there lately. Very little of the promised increased service has materialized. Until US can offer BOS flyers some more nonstops or something that will make it a more appealing choice than the other airlines, they should do something to entice their better customers to stay loyal. Like offering free one day club passes with a ticket..it wouldn't cost much, the club is sitting there mostly empty anyway.

Management needs to be pro-active in keeping their best customer but will they?

The three-tier scheme has nothing to do with complimentary US Airways Club memberships for Chairman's Prefered Dividend Miles members.

This "tiered pricing" of US Airways Club memberships took effect 1 September 2004. See US/UA lounge agreement ending? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=120385

All it does is provide a financial incentive for those who occasionally fly UA to buy a Red Carpet Club membership instead of a US Airways Club one.
