Normally I wouldn't post this, but it was just too funny and I knew a few people here would like it.

I was at RDU on Tuesday morning, trying to take DH to JFK (cheapest by far when I finally got plans settled). I had given someone else a bump voucher so they could take the US flight to LGA. When we arrived for the US 9:15am flight, it was delayed and ultimately canceled so we had some time to waste waiting on the 11:25am.

While sitting down near A21, we heard the following announcement:

The airport is paging Slim Shady to the Piedmont Airlines ticket counter. Slim Shady, please contact the Piedmont Airlines ticket counter.

I don't know who got that into the paging system, nor why the announcer had no idea there hasn't been a Piedmont Airlines ticket counter in RDU Terminal A for quite some time.

In Tampa last year we heard, "Robin Baskin, Robin Baskin, please pick-up the nearest page telephone, Robin Baskin."
Doh!

Maybe the pranksters at RDU got a cue from Heathrow and Gatwick (http://ourpointlesslives.com/announcements/)

Amusing. :)

Or maybe Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie were interning at RDU.

Maybe, but I wouldn't give them enough credit to know Piedmont Airlines.

The combination of Piedmont and Slim Shady is trans-generational genius.

Thought I would post one I heard last year in one of the Crown Rooms in Atlanta. After Sherman Hemsley (the guy that played George Jefferson) left the Crown Room, we heard the following announcement:

"Weezie Jefferson, Weezie Jefferson, please report to the crown room desk."

I went to college with a "Mike Hunt"... and he was a basketball player. Can you say he was always referred to as "Michael Hunt" on the court? ;)

Back in high school I had a calculus teacher named Mrs. Riser. Her husband's name was Richard. She called him Rich.

Back when Rowan University was called Glassboro State the head football coach was Richard Wacker.

I kid you not, a co-worker was on the football team.

I knew a fellow that played golf his name was Richard Small, and yes he went by Dick. The worst part was he had a son... Richard Small, Jr. he played golf as well, he also went by Dick. You can imagine how their names appeared in the paper...

There's nothing there. Am I missing something? Or does the site no longer exist?
