US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Lost bag and you are CP? Let the CP desk do the work

I guess I never really knew that the CP desk really does do all the work for you when it comes to CP's. One of my bags were lost today and I got that paper they always hand to everyone. And you know that 800 number you have to go through to talk to that stupid computer. Well I call the CP desk and asked them was there another number so I could talk to a REAL PERSON. They said sure we have one. I was all excited. I said well I am ready give it to me. She goes you are talking to them.
The representative reminded me that that is what the liaison is for. We are your one stop number. I said great. What can you tell me about my lost bag. I was told that they have found it but what time. She told me I could either hold for a minute or she would call me back. I asked for a call back. 5 minutes later the CP desk calls me back and said my bag was found and picked up at ORD at 7:30 and was in route. I was very happy to hear this.
I had no idea that the CP desk did almost everything. I wish they did international.
Excellent job today :)

The CP desk makes a lot of the BS that we gripe about pale into insignificance. They are just great. They've fixed things for me on other airlines whilst I was trapped in Belgium at 3am. They've arranged rescue from fogged-in rural airports.
I love the CP desk. In fact I love Usair.
I'll take plastic forks and MREs in FC, just don't mess with the CP desk!

It sounds like AA and US have the best top-level CSRs out of all the US airlines. ^^

Totally agree. These are the most courteous, most friendly, and most knowledgeable front line people I have ever dealt with.

On your next call to the CP desk, you may want to ask the agent if he or she enjoyed the candy. A 100 lbs of jelly beans, chocolate and runts were dropped off last week at the desk and with a note of thanks for all they do from the members of FFOCUS. (they still like to call us roaches). I can tell you that about 20 of the 50 working on that day came up and said hello and thanks. They really do appreciate the efforts of our group.
I also had a chance to spend quiet a bit of time with the manager of the desk and one of the supervisors. The point was strongly made how important the people on the desk are to us. There are not many reasons other than the desk to give US a 100k a year. The message was something along the lines of "Don't Mess with Texas" only in this case it was "Don't Mess with the Desk" I think they got the message. :D
Troy, you're liking this CP thing aren't you?

Liking the CP Desk is an understatement. They are actually making my travels enjoyable again!
I am going to have to stop by the CP desk and give them my thanks in person as well.
What a bunch of awesome people.

Agreed the CP desk is fantastic - and really the only difference between US2 and US1 - now that I can't use the TA UG's on V or W fares.

L4pi,
This has just gone over the top. Last night I got my bag around 9pm and signed for it and then went to bed. This morning I woke up and had a message on my cell phone. It was Cathy the CP agent I had talked to earlier about my lost bag. She called me around 10:30 last night and left me a message doing a follow up. She said, "Troy I have looked into your lost baggage claim record locator and see that the hotel has signed for your bags. I just want to make sure that you got it and everything is ok. There is no need to return my call if everything turned out fine but if you do not have your bag please call me back. My name is Cathy and my ext is XXXX"
I did not think I could get more impressed with US' CP desk than I have now. She also went on to tell me that if I have any other problems in the future and if I wanted to. I could hold on to her extension number if I wished!!!

the CP desk is the greatest! I had 2 friends fly over to ORD from MUC via PHL and their bags were never transferred to the PHL to ORD connection. I took the chance and called the CP desk because of the same story as above....computer voice, etc. Well the lady at the CP desk had their bags located while we were on the phone and they were on a flight to ORD that night. My friends were very happy that I was able to get a real person to help them out. And for my help because their English was marginal. They had their bags late that night and were able to attend the conference in clean cloths.

Since the search option is temporarily disabled, I will ask this question here.
Have the new CP packets arrived? I met the requirements with a challenge in the last quarter and never heard anything after that. I shall be doing more flying over the end of February and March and would like to have the card in hand. Although, I have that BOA black card....

I took my first flight on one of these this morning. It wasn't bad at all. And I even got to pretend like I was in FC because after I pulled the tray tables down for my seat and the seat next to me, I saw plenty of pen marks on the seatbacks.

Does the US website say that you're CP? If so, no real reason that you actually need to carry around the card if you're just on domestic flights. On international trips, the card might help you get into lounges.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but whenever I called the CP desk about lost bags I've gotten the pass the buck 'Sorry we don't do baggage Sir' answer. :td:

Yes, it does still have me at CP, but I wondered if the changes would come on 2/28. Also, I would like my upgrades<G>
After posting this, I just found another thread which was started after I asked my question. Seems I am not alone in not yet receiving my packet.
Thanks for replying.

You might want to call the CP line about that one (I'll PM you their number). Just tell them that you haven't yet received your packet and that you would like to make sure that you have the upgrades before booking a trip to Europe.

Sometimes (and this does happen) when the CP desk is super busy the calls get overflowed to the REGULAR reservation desk people who answer for the CP desk people. Maybe that is what happened to you. Cathy was really outstanding.
