Wasn't able to search, since the tool is down ...

I have a bunch of questions about ticketing an award thru USAir .... I haven't done one in a while.

1. How hard is it to ticket in someone else's name? Do I have go to the airport?
2. If I ticket a code-share flight (operated by United), can I make changes to the date of travel free of charge (assuming routing remains the same)? Or can I only change the return date after travel has begun?
3. Can I do this on line (other name and code-share, or do I have to do it over the phone)

With the exception of Caribbean awards I believe there are no more awards on "codeshare" flights. It all falls under Star Alliance awards now if you need to fly on one of the *A carriers for an award ticket.

Also requires booking/making changes via a phone rep.

1- it is as easy as booking in your name, although you have to pay the taxes with a credit card in your name, if the miles are coming from your account; you don't have to go to the airport.

If you're doing all US metal, you can do all of it online. If there's a non US-metal leg, you have to do it over the phone.
