Favorites for these three locales? Bonus points for favorite cheap eats. (I am familiar with the various cheap eat guides available at newsagents).
Thanks

Palm Cove: Cocky's at the Cove. All-day brekky for $8.50. Beautiful view.
Sydney: Not sure where you're staying, but Jimmy Lik's in Potts Point was great. Cuttlefish with Vietnamese dipping sauce highly recommended. It's on Victoria Street, ask for Huen. Bombay Sapphire martini shaken with elderflower and fresh coriander was good as well.
Melbourne: More of a place to go after you eat, but the Melbourne Supper Club is worth visiting to enjoy a cigar and just chill out. Address is 161 Spring Street, but the entrance is difficult to find; it's a door just south of the theatre with a small sign running vertically up the wall.
I keep telling people that if they are going to Cairns, they really should head up to Cape Tribulation. If you make it up there, Dragonfly is the place to have dinner.
In Palm Cove there are several places to eat! As many hotels have opened in the past year, more restaurants are available.
For relaxed and tasty dining why not try 'Choc Dee' at the Outrigger Hotel. Good Thai food here. Service OK.
For Lunch with a nice view of the beach, go to Far Horizons at Angsana.
For dinner, Spice Market at the Novotel Resort is also nice although service is a little inconsistent. I remember waiting 45 mins for dessert, so we walked out
For fine-dining try the restaurant at the new Sea Temple Resort, I haven't tried it yet but have heard good things. I would also recommend staying at this hotel.
For breakfast, lunch, or dinner with a view to die for, travel 25 mins north to Oak Beach to Thala Beach Lodge and enjoy the fine dining of Osprey's restaurant. Food is top notch, service is friendly, and the view is superb!
If you want to know more about Palm Cove, Cairns or the surrounding areas just PM me. I live in Palm Cove :D (during college breaks)

Thanks for the responses so far!
FYI: We are staying at the Sydney Harbour Marriott, Melbourne Marriott and the Outrigger Beach Club in Palm Cove.
