US has now changed the BDL-DCA goFare pricing for at least a 3rd time in 6 months.

One of my main pet peeves of US vs WN is that WN keeps their pricing consisitent.

It looks like US will match BDL-BWI (for $78) and then has changed BDL-DCA to around $120, and now starting at $208 given 21 days out.

And seeing as WN is direct to BWI, why would I even consider the US route?? At least with DCA they're competing on direct flights to the same market.

You can always book BDL-BWI for the lower fare and try to standby on the first available flight to DCA. The CP desk has told me this tactic is not technically allowed if the same fare isn't offered at both co-terminals, but I've gotten away with it (for $25) before heading TO DCA on a BWI ticket.

I was thinking of trying that on BDL-DCA but is it possible to check in and get through security on DCA-BDL holding a BWI-BDL ticket??

THere must be a way, but I've not flown standby for anything other than an earlier or later flight same day.

I'd love to stay on US, but a travel time of 4 hrs to get from Hartford to DC is sort of silly when I can drive it in 6, or take a direct to baltimore for 39 each way.
