I am making a MR to FCO, I am turning right around and coming back. Does anyone know if I will need to clear customs and check in the the Usair ticket counter or can I go straight to the transfer desk? Flight 2 has been running late the past couple days. I have been upgraded to Envoy is that changes anything.
Thanks

Why kill yourself by flying right home? Stay in Rome for one day and enjoy the history!
Yes, you will have to clear customs.......there is no transfer desk that I could see when I was there a few weeks ago.

I do not believe that there is a transfer desk in Rome. Usually, when the arrival of US2 is delayed, the departure of US3 is almost always pushed back at least the same amount of time...

I have seen a security area with a metal detector in the lower level of terminal C right after exiting the plane.
Look for "Transiti". Cathay Pacific refers to the "transiti" area here:

You can also try the elevators before taking the train to the customs area. If this fails you can also try to stay inside the train and go back to terminal C.
You will have to get a sticker on your passport (after being interviewed), but I believe that you can do it at the gate.
