I always want to see SXM photos a few seconds AFTER the jumbos fly overhead... ie are all the people tossed about?

Use DMs, that's what I did 4 years ago. Well worth it.

Like in the movie "Pushing Tin"? No. They are not tossed about.
When the Air France 747 lines up to leave in the afternoon, all the beach bums run up to the fence - which can't be more than 50 feet behind the engines of the plane - and take in the jet blast. The runway pavement is literally on the other side of the fence at which you stand. Same scenario for the landings. It's amazing the landing gear doesn't take out a car or two. In either case, people are not thrown an inch.
