I travel with a Macintosh laptop equipped with an Apple "Airport" wireless network card. I always check as I travel to see if there is an accessable 802.11 wireless network that I can use while hanging out waiting for my flight.

So far, I've found a wireless host in the new SFO International terminal, For awhile, there was one in ATL, but it wasn't there the last time I passed through.

Is anyone else using 802.11? Have you found good access points in your travels?

A lot of the AA Admiral's clubs now have them. I forget the name of the firm providing the service, but there may be info on AA's website. I wouldn't be surprised if the signal reached outside of the airport.

Also, I think parts of the Austin airport are covered.

Wayport is the other company providing service. When you getservice it is very good, 11MB Internet is nice, better than what I have at the office!

I use both MobileStar and Wayport, service is somewhat patchy. MobileStar provides service in many Admirals Clubs, Wayport in a number of airport terminals including DFW and Austin.

The cost is around $6.95 per use per day. I think they also have other unlimited use programs.
