I am a little surprised by the lack of security with this situation. I noticed 1500 odd points credited to my account. I thought it was my AmEx C.C.activity and thought nothing more about it. When I was checking my up coming reservations I noticed a reservation at the Grande Bretagne in Athens for this past January.( I actually have several of them for this coming April) Although the name and *wood number on the reservation was mine... the address was a London address ( I live in Seattle) and the credit card used was not mine. I called Starwood and they said the reservation had been made by a travel agent....I asume the travel agent did not have their clients *wood number and asked for it....could it really be that easy to get another person's number who just so happens to have the same name as you?

My apologies for the inconvenience.
What's more likely in this situation is that the person checking in did not have their SPG account number, so the hotel looked in the database and picked the wrong account number - same name, wrong number - which caused the stay to be credited to your account.
This doesn't happen often, but when it does, the person missing the credit contacts us, we find the stay, remove it from your account and see that it is applied to the right account.

No worries. If the other member doesn't contact us, you can keep them, as far as I'm concerned. :)
