The Lion King is set to close in Sydney, despite boasting capacity audiences throughout its 18-month run. Simba and friends will roar for the last time on stage at the Capitol Theatre in Haymarket on April 30, before the large-scale production shifts to Melbourne for a limited season.

The Phantom of the Opera was "limited season" when it opened in Melbourne. It was there for (testing my memory here) quite a few years.

I guess that's to make way for The Producers which is moving from Melbourne to Sdyeny. I just hope they leave Bert Newton behind in Melbourne :rolleyes:

A friend of mine in the industry said that it will be in Brisbane for a very short stay, then coming to the Lyric Theatre in Sydney around mid May....AFAHK :)
