I just got back from a JFK - RSW r/t both flights, different planes, both had FOX inFlight free, the screen said it was complimentary.
I thought it carried a $5 charge?

I thought it carried a $5 charge?
I believe that you must have flown on one of the few aircraft that have FOX on them. I heard that they will all be installed by Spring. However, if you fly to STI, SJU, SDQ, or BQN, it will be free because there is no Directv.

Right now, approximately 2/5 of the fleet is equipped with the FOX inflight. As mentioned, it will always be free on Caribbean routes as DirectTV is inop on the last portion of those flights.
As of this Monday (today), all domestic flights that are equipped now cost $5

About 60% of the fleet is equipped with the Fox InFlight and Colorcalm IFE, XM radio has been delayed for a while though, as certification tests are being completed.
Fox InFlight costs $5 per movie and the current movies are "I Heart Huckabees" and "Taxi". The movies begin playing 15 minutes after takeoff.
