Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - CX Fuel Surcharge Reduction

Cathay Pacific intends to implement the revised lower surcharge for tickets to be issued or re-issued on or after 1 February 2005. The new surcharges will be effective for two months until 31 March 2005.


I have alraedy issued my ticket to LAX for travel in Feb... can I re-issue my ticket to gain the difference?

The reduction in the surcharge is about 40%, a saving of US$3.9 (~HK$30) for short-haul and US$12 (~HK$90). But there would be charge that you might need to pay to CX if you choose to re-issue your ticket, and I think pretty much any benefit gained from the lower fuel-surcharge would offset by the likely ticket re-issuing charge.
