it seems the article is talking about the F class that has been available for the public for a while..

I think the article means 'new' in that it's new on that particular route, i.e. three class service instead of two class.

indeed CX738 that i was on from Dubai last night was A333 having originated from BAH. was full in J (i cleared waitlist on the day) but only 3 pax in F.
