On the Amazing Race tonight, I saw images of Nice airport, and there was a CX jet on the tarmac? Can anyone fill me in on this?

On the Amazing Race tonight, I saw images of Nice airport, and there was a CX jet on the tarmac? Can anyone fill me in on this?
There also seemed to be a QF jet there. Me thinks it's file footage - and anyway everytime they board a plane they show a 747 taking off - yeah right from NCE-FCO!!!

I noticed that too! I'm so happy I'm not the only person that bothered! :)
I thought that footage looked a lot like HKG, and not Nice. I guess Qantas and Cathay overlapping could happen in a lot of places though (just not Nice)!

Yeah, don't trust what the Amazing Race shows you, or what they tell you - it's all a little simplfied. Like yesterday, when 2 teams flew LH from NCE to CAI "non-stop"....

Many possibilities, such as HKG, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne et cetera. After all, CX flys to many cities in Australia.

No, CX does not and has never operated schelduled services to Nice.
What you saw might have been a charter flight, but I am not aware of any CX charters to Nice.

Could possibly be an airshow. I know CX participated in the Farnborough International Air Show in the UK during 2004 by sending its B-HOY aircraft there.

Drives me crazy! They use this sort of improper footage all the time. In this case I think they used shots of three different airports to represent "Nice".
Suspect that the shot of CX at Nice was actually at HKG as it appears the contestants will be going to China (rumour is Shanghai) as part of this race. Suspect the shot of the two QF jets was likely at an Australian airport (they are also rumoured to be going to Australia).
The graphic of the LH flight going "non-stop" from NCE-CAI also got to me, especially as the shot prior to the graphic was some of the racers boarding a LH flight clearly labled on the monitor as going to Frankfurt!
Actual take off and landing shots rarely have any real connection to likely reality either with aircraft type and/or airline and/or airport.
Would think that anyone beyond the posters on FT would pick up even a tiny portion of the continuity issues vis a vis airlines and travel.
