I just felt like starting a positive post to balance the gloom and doom these days. I appreciate the miles US gave me on a recent trip RDU-PHL-MAN-PHL-RDU. For $650 plus 10k miles I got to ride in Envoy going eastbound and got 25k miles back in my account with the various bonuses, as follows.

Date Transaction Description Actual Miles Bonus Miles Total Miles
12-JAN-05 US 0197 Y MAN PHL 3,434 3,434 6,868
12-JAN-05 US 0351 E PHL RDU 336 664 1,000
12-JAN-05 UP TO 15,000 MILES FROM U.K. 0 7,500 7,500
05-JAN-05 US 1180 P RDU PHL 336 664 1,000
05-JAN-05 US 0196 R PHL MAN 3,434 3,434 6,868
05-JAN-05 SIGNATURE FULL FARE BONUS 0 250 250
05-JAN-05 SIGNATURE FULL FARE BONUS 0 1,717 1,717

The crew on all four flights were topnotch and I survived PHL with only minor wounds (well - I should confess that I did go with a carry-on so I wouldn't have to deal with checked bags coming back through customs).

HANG IN THERE US!

Just make sure you get all 4 of the signature full fare bonuses posted - sometimes they don't post properly when flights are upgraded.

I remember when you had that trouble last month. I was prepared to call to make sure the mileage posted correctly. Both directions posted correctly even with the upgrade change to "R." I guess every time is different. Now, I'm having trouble getting the 20K to post correctly. I'm on the phone with the CP desk now trying to get the last bonus (6K) to post for 2004 (it posted last night for 2005). And I already have 3 of my 5 RTs completed for 2005 -- 2 more next week should put 20K towards this year on top of the regular mileage and the rollover.^

For the most part great employees and a very generous FF program. Don't worry about those doom gloomer guys. Every time they set a date they have been proven wrong over and over again.

It's fun to watch people on here do the Dividend miles dance. I need to spend all my miles really fast. Now you are seeing people redeposit miles. I never thought of having a ton of miles was a really good thing. Unless of course you are wanting to do a around the world ticket.

I think for the most part most of us on here are pulling for US to make it. Not just because of our miles. But because we actually enjoy flying them (the exception for me is PHL which I have to do every other month :td: ).

By all means US Airways is not out of the woods. However, things do look much better than they did less than 2 weeks ago that is for sure. We will know more by this Friday. Wishing all the employees the best of luck on this.

GalleyWench and Flygirl, hang in there. We appreciate the hard work that you do for US Airways. ^
