Hi,

On a flight from HKG to MEL on early Jan 2005, I have been op-up to J. Tried the Whisky (Johnny Walker). Taste very good unlike the "red" and "black" label (either of them has a burnning feeling in the mouth). Was it "gold" or "blue"?

Thanks in advance.

My apology of asking. Actually, I should ask the FA but I forgot. I will ask them next time.

Another question is whether they will change to another type of wine in the future.

Cheers,
Net Flyer :)

I think that might have been 25 years scotch?

By the way, that's not wine. it's whisky as u said it...

Last time I flew J from SYD to HKG it was Jonnie Walker Black - although Red was available on request....

I've never had Blue or Gold on CX - actually, I've never had Gold at all.

I'm guessing you didn't see the bottle it came from but CX flight staff will show you if you ask (politely). I've never seen Blue served on a flight. Generally I'd assume Blue would be reserved for F.

it's one of these wonderful linguistic differential transposition errors. he/she is referring to the chinese word "jiu3" :)

Further off topic :)

This is CX board, so we had better say "jau 2" in Cantonese ?
Anyway, just kidding.

In an attempt to bring this somewhat back on topic, let me state that I had a wonderful French Sauternes with the cheese course on HKG-SIN in J last week. It seems to be their current special, and the FA gave me a full regular wine glass of it... :D

YES!! It's their current feature......a Sauternes from the great 2001 vintage....Ch. Roumieu "Haut Placey"......I thought it was great with the Satay served on my SIN-HKG flight.... ;)
