Hello.

I got a question regarding these vouchers Handelsblatt is supposed to send out for subscriptions.

As a non-German member (based in VIE), can I use these vouchers too? The Miles and More team in VIE is not aware about vouchers.

Thanks for any input,

I have just used the oldest promo of 13.000 miles.
They send me the vauchers at the same address of the newspaper, in Italy.
When recived, I compiled and sent to Lh Miles&More address.
After a few weeks, the miles were on my account.

Hi!

Was wondering if anyone whol participated in the new promotion (i.e. 69 Euro for the 10.000 miles) got a cocktail shaker in their post?

I got a cocktail shaker today. I do hope that this does not in anyway affect me from getting those vouchers! :p

Any idea on this?

Thanks..

Can anyone who already received those vouchers tell me whether you get 2x 5000 miles or really just one for 10.000 miles. It used to be only 5000 mile vouchers in the past, but I dont' know whether they changed that in the meantime.

It seems Handelsblatt is still trying to get away with delivering anything they still have in stock: When ordering the latest coupon promo, they always used to send me a fancy Lamy pen set instead of miles-. In order to get your miles you should send the shaker back to them, stating you did order miles. Just mark something like "erroneous shipping - back to sender" on the envelope, so you won't have to pay any fee to the postal services (At least it worked intragermany).

To Sydfly: Worth of the vouchers does not follow a certain rule as it seems: For a total of 13.000 miles I received 10k+1k+1k+1k as well as 6x2k+1k vouchers. When contacting thier customer support after having ordered your subscription, they should be able to send you what you need.

during the old promo ( I ordered 14 ! :D ) I got everething from :

5 * 2k + 3 * 1k
6 * 2k + 1 * 1k
2 * 5k + 3 * 1k
1 * 10K + 1 * 2k + 1 * 1k

now I have more than 60 vouchers to fill out ! I am thinking about to create a word document to print them. Has one tried that ?

In the letter they send me with service card, there is a paper with the details for the payment ( bank transfer ) and a possibility to have for the subscription a laser point... I will hope they don't send me 4 laser point ( AND NO MILES.... ) ... or I will don't pay them. I check the promo's site. It stills to give 10.000 miles for a subscription.

"thank you for your new order.

We are sorry, but it's not possible, to enter a subsciption twice with a gift

You already ordered a subscription at this address, that is still running.

Hi everybody,

when you get these vouchers from Handelsblatt, is the name of the subscriber printed on them? Just asking, because I want others to collect some miles for me ...

Think about ist: You need 90000 miles for a flight in BusinessClass to the US, so you need 9 subscribers. That makes € 630,- for a BusinessClass flight .... Well, think about it.

It works well, because the vouchers are blank. At least mine were. I ordered both the 13 k and 3 k offers once at the same address. Haven´t yet ordered this new one. I should do it in my wife´s name or as a gift to my sister.

difficult ????
You should try to get premium seats as a BA-gold :td: , ´to many destinations like BKK , SIN ,HKG , MRU , JNB or CPT it´s nearly impossible to get businessclass seats ! not 11 month and also not 7 days in advance !
With LH I got last October during NRW´s autumholidays as well as over christmas and new year ( that´s the hottest days) 4 seats in "O" to BKK and onward to HKT. And last tuesday I booked 4 seats CGN-MUC-DXB-MUC-CGN in new business ( just for 2 days later departure ) short trip over KARNEVAL.
I would say no airline has better award availability !

Additionally I would suggest, that Lufthansa is paying with Lufthansa Miles for all the free Handelsblatt at the airport and maybe also for the advertising in the Handelsblatt. It is just a guess... But it would make sense.

So maybe the deal looks loke that:

Handelsblatt Newspapers + Advertising for Lufthansa in the Handelsblatt in exchange for all the miles. It is a win win situation.

On Friday I received 13,000 miles worth of paper vouchers for my EUR66 Handelsblatt 3-month Abo. It seems an old-fashioned way of giving miles: I expected them to be credited directly to the M&M account, as the Die Welt promotion was. So I guess one has to fill each one out and send them in. Is it better to send them "recorded delivery" mail, or is ordinary mail OK?

I always used ordinary mail and it works fine. Only a few days later the miles get credited on my account. The paper vouchers do have a receipt on the right hand side which you can keep. If something goes wrong you can call M&M and ask what went wrong. Additionally I would make a copy of the vouchers to be on the safe side. But so far, I had no problems at all with the vouchers.

German Post is pretty excellent

OT: Haven't realized that yet. In my eyes it's as bad as Deutsche Bahn for example... Companies with no (or nearly no) competition, they can do whatever they want to and you have to use their "services" again and again and that's what they show you every day.

Just think you could divide the Deutsche Post AG in different products and services. The normal mail and letter service is once you have got your letter into the system excellent. From Munich to any city in Germany the letters are delivered on the next day and not only in business metropols but Germany wide. Going out of Munich at 18.45 Uhr !

The prices are very low ! The only criticism on the Deutsche Post AG is the "privatized" part if Postagenturen where you can buy stamps only in 10stamp packs, have long quees and so on. But you can get stamps very fast if you order them by phone or mail. From a value of 15,00 EUR they're delivered to your door with any surcharge on the stamp price !

Another picture is the "modernized" and international part of the DHL service. Astonishing enough this privatized part is much worse than the letter/mail service which relies on many of the old Deutsche Bundespost personnel.

I myself am very impressed on the letter/mail service. No false delivery, no slow mail service and cheap, :D

The advantage with vouchers over auto-crediting is that, as a non-status customer, you can wait with crediting, extending the lifetime of the miles longer.

Concerto
Feb 27, 05, 5:13 pm
I don't think the promo is still going. I see what you mean about extending the validity of the miles. But the vouchers are only valid until the end of the year, so likewise the miles would only be valid a few months longer if I credited them in, say, December. I quite honestly think that the sooner you credit these things the better, just in case the whole system changes.

As for the Deutsche Post, I think it is mostly pretty professional. However, I am not so old as to have very clear memories of the time (in the UK anyway) when it was far cheaper to write and post a letter rather than telephone someone. Now, I would venture to say it's pretty much the other way round. I find the Deutsche Post overpriced for the service they offer (which unlike the dreadful, snobby Swiss post), and what really irritates me is how they charge more by the size of the envelope (like the Swiss). It seems you only have to stuff a piece of paper in the envelope to make it overweight and be surcharged. And movements to and from a place like Meiningen are slow.

I have concluded that the French have the best postal system in Europe, but that's another story.

On the back site of that blank voucher they printed the rules and they say:

"Eine Gutschrift an eine andere als die auf dem Gutschein angegebene Person ist nicht möglich.
Verkauf, Tausch oder Versteigerung dieses Gutscheins ist unzulässig. Der Gutschein verliert in diesem Fall seine Gültigkeit."

My question: Are these blank vouchers valid just for the person who ordered the promo or can I fill in whatever I want to? Does Lufthansa know who received the voucher due to the voucher #?

Thanks a lot

Hi,

if you read this correct, it says that only the imprinted person can use the voucher. So as long as there is nobody imprinted....
You just print your name on the voucher and then send it to M&M and everything should be fine.

I don't like this auctions, but if M&M agrees to the voucher handling then
some people will sell vouchers, that's how economy works.

thanks

thats what I thought too, but I was not sure about it.

I don't want to sell them on ebay. I heard that Lufthansa is not happy about that and sometimes chancel those auctions.
I just asked because I have several Handelsblatt Promos in progress and want to earn all miles on one account.

That's what I'm doing too.

Selling Miles on Ebay isn't my business. I want to get to cheap C-Class Flights.

No, I think it´s just down at the moment. Should be working again soon.

To all of you, who have ordered several Handelsblatt promotions: Did you make your orders using only one address? Does HB care whether or not someone orders several promotions?

I ordered two for myself with different addresses and three for other people. Maybe you have also some friends who are interested in receiving the Handelsblatt? You pay them the abo and of course, you get the Miles.

Called their hotline today: the offer is still running. But they were not aware that the link is down.

As GlobalExpress said, I think it must be working soon. Well, I hope so, because I need some miles for my wife. :D

I've supplied my whole family and friends all over Germany with the Handelsblatt. ^
I get 4 issues every day to one adress. I used different names but two of them have the same surname. No problem at all!

BTW-> You can get rid of the newspaper if you call the hotline and say that you want a temporary interruption of the abo
(e.g. "Urlaubsunterbrechnung")
First time they transfered money to my bank account back for the issues during the interrupion.
The other time they said that the abo will continue after the 3 month period.

My dear friends! Please, in the name of our nature, do NOT order the newspaper if you don't need it! It is a huge waste of energy and paper!

What is fairly ok: You order the Handelsblatt, and after about two or three weeks you send them an email, telling that you don't want to receive the newspaper anymore. You still have what you want: Your miles.

Isn't it up to us not to take care of our environment? Yes, it is. :-:

It has to be said that, following their EUR66 promotion a few months ago, Handelsblatt keep on sending the papers even though I sent in a letter cancelling it. They really want you to keep buying their papers, and it's quite a job offloading these Abonnements. Just like in the UK, newspapers are desparate to sell copies!

I would call them and ask about the status of your subscription. I got no papers after cancelling, but an invoice... After faxing them the cancellation confirmation everything was OK.

We had 19 subscriptions ordered for all our family. And so far no problem!
Ordered , confirmation, bill, payed, got voucher, canceled, asked and got cancelation confirmed, and after 3 month no more newspaper.
The only thing was, that 2 or 3 of our family got a phonecall with an offer to subscipe again.

Now we have ordered 6 new subscriptions, just got the first bill yesterday.

For those who have no use in getting more than one copy each morning why not talking to the publisher and donate them to a social institution like a hospital. Many German newspapers offer this service. I guess many patients in hospitals would be happy to read the Handelsblatt for free.

Just my two cents.

Are you sure? I just checked it today and it is still 7000 miles in the Handelsblatt pop-up window for the subscription. And I noticed that they have also added an entry for where to deposit the miles, thus the M&M no. needs to be fill in now. I guess this could be a sign that they have found a good way to limit the same person getting the miles  I don't know if you can put someone elses name but your own M&M account number. Anyway, as stated earlier, with this reduction of miles, it comes up to be about 1 eurocent/mile. Not too bad, but not that great either!

But now it says "Bitte beachten Sie, dass nur eine Bestellung pro Adresse möglich ist. "
And I think that is new.

As I like reading the Handelsblatt every morning I subscribe the newspaper with the 7.000 miles offer for 3 month and cancel it after getting the miles as voucher. I am doing this four times a year and sometimes I do get the 7.000 miles as 7 x 1.000 miles vouchers. (Quite alot of work filling out all the vouchers :D )

Anyway, this time they did not send me the vouchers. Instead they send me a letter with the information, that the miles have been credited to my M&M account directly. I just had a quick look and it is true. So maybe this is a new policy that they do not give out any vouchers anymore.

Looked at my vouchers a few weeks ago as part of some desk tidying up and realised with horror that aprox 30K worth of HB vouchers had expired on March 31. :(

Nevertheless sent them in to MMI in Neu Isenburg along with the sueddeutsche vouchers from another promo and with relief noticed that all vouchers credited a few days later. ^ to MMI!

Maybe the fact that I mailed them from my hotel in Meissen during the days of the elbe floods earlier this month helped...

The offer seems to 74,40 Euro for 7000 points.
But on LH web site it still say 69,60 Euro.

Someone know if the older deals are still possible to get?

Personally I find point prices over 1 cent per mile to expensive.
But I am very new to this so therefore I have little idea how often you get less than 1 cent per point deals over a year.
