I can't vouch for every combination, but I;ve been routed to CP using the main and Gold numbers over the years, and many other threads have reported the same thing. It's not really that hard....

For domestic reservations you can call any 800 number you can find and be routed to the appropriate desk for your status (you will key in your # and PIN).
As such I don't see the big reason for hiding the #, but not my call!
