US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Changing flights w/award

hi all,
me and my wife are currently in vegas and looking to change our flight out
to an earlier one. it is a fc on an award. is this something they usually do if available? will there be a penalty? just wanted to have some info, before i make the call. thanks.

Call Res and tell them you're on an award ticket and want to change your return. There should be no change fees associated. It is indeed based on space available.

OR goto the airport and just standby for your return. As long as there's FC seats avail you're on.

thanks for the reply. called yesterday, the flight i wanted to switch to, she
said it wouldn't let her use my miles on for first class. it appears to be empty
in fc, she said another flight that would let her, only had 1 seat. she was very nice and said to try back again before we go as things change. so i guess that is what i will do. she said i could book it in coach though. now the flight is wed, i was wondering if it is when they open things up for upgrades? any info again would be appreciated!
