I'm moving back to Asia and will be based out of HKG but living part-time in Malaysia and Thailand. Since I will be paid in HK$, I want to get a HK credit card.

(I've read the other threads on FT but it is mainly discussing Asia Mile conversions)

Here are my options:

1) Get one that converts to Asia Miles? However, I will still be crediting all my 1W flights to my BA U.S. account as I feel the redemption rate is better. So if I am just getting a credit card for Asia Miles, I fear I won't be able to redeem much on Asia Miles as no flights will count towards my Asia Miles account.

2) Get a HK credit card that can credit to other airline programs? I can easily transfer my UA or AA accounts to HK address as it makes no difference. However, are there HK credit cards that I can do this?

3) Anyone else think of other ideas for me?

[And which bank should I get it from?]

Thanks.

Amex allows you to earn 1 asiamile to HKD4 for the first HKD312,000 of spending.

Citibank has a CX credit card that allows 1 asiamile to HKD8.

HSBC has a card for crediting miles to UA. 1 mile per HKD12.

Check out their websites for more details.
