Travel Technology - I'm in hell -- didn't uninstall VirusScan when I installed Norton Internet Security

[deleted original problem because my XP Pro welcome screen finally loaded after 15 minutes - but I have another issue that is annoying me]

Windows keeps asking me to install updates and then a window pops up telling me that my computer will restart in 4 minutes and 40 seconds...

I usually click on "restart later" but is there any way to stop these automatic updates from loading in the first place?

1. Click on System in control panel.
2. Click on the automatic updates tab.
3. Select "Turn off Automatic Updates".
4. Click Ok.
