I just went to the Zuji.com and saw that they've this bonus Asia miles offer.

500 miles for each hotel booking
1000 miles for 1st booking
2000 miles for 2nd booking
5000 miles for 5th booking

I played around with the site and found hotel rooms at some remote town at under US$20/night. I figure if I make 5 hotel bookings, which will cost me about US$105, I'd get 10500 miles. As CX Asia Miles expert, do you think it's worth it to get 1 Asia miles at 1 US cent?

Yes - I would pay 1 US Cent for AsiaMiles. Thanks for the heads up.

The way this will probably go;

Can someone try it and report back if it worked?

You do realise that you must actually stay at the hotel before your miles will be credited? I'd really like to see what you can get for US$20 a night!

In all likelihood, it would be nicer than the dumps I normally stay in :D

the flight ticket bonuses only credited to my account after actually flying the relevant sectors, but assume that if hotel rate is charged as no show penalty, then you may get the credit.

my experience with zuji has been very bad

Between october and december i have bought 4 tickets from them and still don't have any miles. I wrote several emails and have yet to receive an answer.

zuji booking technology is ok, but their customer service is simply abysmal.

You are not alone!

In the earlier promotion, I have made a flight booking and flown during the promotional period. To-date, I have yet to receive the miles. Sent more than 5 emails, and got 1 reply that they are looking into it. Till then, they dun even bother to reply my emails anymore. I have also given up hope getting the miles.

Given the price differential is not much compared to the TAs, I am getting my tickets from my TA instead.

Actually I have just referred the zuji case to the Taiwanese Consumer Protection Agency.

They have advertised the bonus miles since September, but now claim that you have to register on their site to get the miles. The form to do so has been up for only two weeks (and still doesn't work properly).

That I think is plain fraud.

hclee01, mhtaipei:

Sorry about your experiences :td: , and thanks for the warning about zuji. ^ I've come close to using them in the past, but then managed to find better fares on the SQ and CX websites. I guess I should hold off on using them.

I have the opposite experience in the past 3 months. My first and second booking bonuses posted within a week after booking. The flight bonuses, however, did not post until 2-3 weeks after each flight, which is reasonable.

Whenever I call their customer service from HK, I've been pleasantly surprised at how friendly and professional the agents (they sound Chinese Australian to me?) have been.

Of course, flying Gulf Air HKG-BKK is no fun, but you can't beat the price!

I made 5 hotel reservations last week with Zuji. While none of the hotel reservations have taken place, I've already received 8000 Asia miles (1000 for 1st booking, 2000 for 2nd booking, and 5000 for 5th booking). I guess the 5 - 500 miles per hotel transaction will take place after the hotel stay. Pretty pleased with the fast posting!!!
