Travel Technology - Best OZ and NZ Prepaid Sim rates

I cannot find my Telstra Sim chip which had quite a bit of credit on it :( so time to go shopping. I know OZ mobile providers have great rates to the USA sometimes cheaper than making calls to OZ... Who has the best rate all in all? ALso for New Zealand. Also if one were to travel to Tahiti, and Cook ISlands which of the two would be the best to roam in those specific places. Or is there a good provider in the Cook Islands?

There's only one GSM pre-paid supplier in NZ, and that's Vodafone.

However, check your Oz supplier and see if you can roam to NZ and other places you mentioned with your pre-paid SIM.

My Mate has Vodafone,( He lives in NZ) and from what he tells me, Mobile Calls there are Damn Cheap... I think it costs them the same to call US as it does to make a local call... :eek:

I had Optus in Australia last year. It was really quite reasonably priced. I suggest you go to the prepaid GSM site and check for the ones in Australia and NZ and then go to their web page to look at their current prepaid deals. They seemed quite competative when I was there.
