I am very tempted to get the new PalmTreo 650, but since the service provider is US Sprint, I am rather hesitant to get it. I used to subscribe to Sprint for over 3 years and found their customer service absolutely horrific. Also, switching service to Sprint would cost me another $200.
I am now with T-Mobile and am quite happy. The thing is, their PDA phone selection is quite limited.
Since I'd like to have a PDA phone, maybe those in the know can advice if HP iPAQ h6315 (from T-Mobile) is any better (or more or less same) than Treo 650.
I appreciate ANY info. Thanks.
Rumors I've seen are that Cingular will soon have the Treo 650 but that T-Mobile won't be selling them. They'll get the next Treo sometime in the middle of the year.

I wouldn't got for the 6315, simply because the technology in it is already old.
It's got terrible battery life, a poor implementation of Bluetooth and a mediocre GSM phone circuit.
The device is also slow compared to current pocketPC's.
2005 will bring several better alternatives, like the Benq P50, though it'll sadly be around $800.

I've never been a Treo fan, and my main gripes with the Treo600 have not been fixed in the 650 (WiFi, build quality).

Wifi is now available for the 650 through a hack + sd card, and will soon be available with a third party wifi case. I can't speak for build quality of the 650 specifically, but my Tungsten C was built very well. My main gripe with PalmOne is their customer support (and as the previous poster alluded, wifi SHOULD be built in to most new products).

I am currently using the HP6315 from T-Mobile which I bought the first day that they were available. I am seriously thinking about buying another phone and using the Ipaq just as a PDA. I have an old HP 3950 Ipaq with an expansion sleeve in which I was thinking of using as a GPS for my car but I also wanted to try having a "all in one" package.
I just don't really like the bulkiness of the PDA as a phone. The T-Mobile service is ok but I often have a call go directly into voicemail after one ring. This is a reported problem (Dave's Ipaq, Geekzone, etc.) and there is no fix as of yet. Most users are saying back up everything then perform a hard reset.
As a PDA it is very useful and I can dial my contacts from the database or from the missed call box by tapping the link. I really haven't used the camera very much and it can't compare to megapixel cameras. I did have a problem with international service until I found the right icon to use (quad band phone) but now it works great in Europe. Haven't been to Asia as of yet to see if it works. The Internet can be reached but trying to read Flyertalk on the small screen is tough but you just have to get used to the screen size.
There also has been reporting about who is going to provide the software updates, HP or T-Mobile. I would rate the device a 6-7 out of 10. It is not perfect but the positives outweigh the negatives for me right now.

Try using Thunderhawk as a browser, it's made by Bitstream, it has to be the best browser the PocketPC has.
