Hilton HHonors - LHR Hilton or Conrad London
On our way to Kenya, we are spending less than 24 hours in London. Should we stay in LHR Hilton or Conrad Hilton. Is staying in Conrad worth the trouble of transporting all of our luggage and getting up 2 hours earlier in the morning to get to the airport? Considering that the safari will be the highlight of our trip; is visiting Conrad Hilton worth the trouble? How do the rooms compare?
p.s. I am HH Diamond.
LHR Hilton is a port in a storm, Period.
You can consider checking your bags in at the LHR Left Luggage facility and going where you wish otherwise, whether the Conrad, or in my case, I have had nice stays (upgraded to corner Jr. suite) at the Hilton Paddington. Nice thing here is the Heathrow Express departing / arriving Paddington is 15 minutes form Heathrow - easy and not uncomfortable at all.

Forget about the Conrad in your situation. Although its perhaps the nicest of all the Hiltons in London ( rooms are all suites) its a bit far from everything and certainly not what you want to do for such a short stay.
To get LHR you will have take a taxi ( or altenately walk to the bus, then take the tube or long walk to tube, take the tube Paddington, then Heathrow Express)
To get to LGW, you will do the same as above to Victoria to get the Gatwick Express.
Stay as suggested at Hilton Paddington, HX 15 mins to/from LHR, entrance to hotel inside station.

I enjoy the Conrad but I wouldn't stay there for one night for the previously described reasons. Personally, I'd check-in at LHR and hop the tube into the city and maybe catch a good theatre show and head back to LHR for the night.

Stay at the Paddington Hilton. You can be there by HEX about as fast as you can walk to the LHR Hilton - and it is vastly more cheerful and interesting than the LHR Hilton.

If your flights in and out are the morning, my plan would be to dump stuff at LHR, take the HEX into town and go back an relax at LHR in the evening. The rooms are like prison cells, but they are quiet, the lounge is nice enough, and the ZEN restaurant is good (but pricey).
Else, stay at the Paddington, just like they said.
Thanks for all the information. We are going to stay at LHR Hilton. We were able to get an award stay and our flight arrives at noon and departs the next morning at 10:45. With less than 24 hours, we decided to minimize the luggage transporting and check in at the closest hotel. Thanks for all the information. :)

is LHR really worth category 5?
