Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Possible to check bags SFO-HKG (CX) then HKG-NRT-HNL (UA)?

I think the answer to this question is, simply, "yes," but I was hoping for independent verification.

When I show up at SFO, I simply show them my tickets for HKG-NRT-HNL and they would add that to the bag tag. They have interline agreements, and all the connections are legal (3+ hours in both HKG and NRT), so should be no problems, right? And, it's in J on CX and F on UA.

I guess I'm just concerned about the reverse routing (eastbound then westbound transpacs) and the embarrassment of having to explain this to the CX check-in clerk at SFO.

Thanks!

Not a problem....

Before the holidays, I was working in SLC and on the last day my originall schedule SLC-SFO flight got delayed, which made it hard to catch my SFO-LAX-HKG-BKK, so UA routed me SLC-DEN-SFO, with SLC-DEN on F9.....my bags were checked SLC-DEN-SFO-LAX-HKG-BKK all the way through...they had 3 bag tags....1 for F9, then UA interline, then AA/CX on the other.......

My bags made it to BKK tagged correctly with CX F priority tags... (and of course the UA Star priority tags too) ^
