View Full Version : Are CSRs ever wrong?

OK I am being a bit tongue in cheek here but seriously, I need some feedback on this.

I qualified for Diamond in 2004 with a fast track promo. There were some issues with the promo and they weren't going to give me the status (some of you guys might remember helping me through my angst over this!), but I argued with them and eventually they agreed to give it to me, on the condition that my Diamond status would expire in Feb 2005, not 2006.

Thanks to my client suddenly developing an interest in corporate apartments, I finished out 2004 with 14 stays - not quite enough even to requalify for Gold. So I assumed I was going to drop down to Silver in Feb 2005.

Then I found out my company has a fast track to Gold offer for employees. Better Gold than silver, right? so I called Cust. Service to register. They sent me to the Diamond Desk, where the CSR told me that I don't need the promo because I am Diamond through Feb 2006!

One of the two CSRs is wrong. But which one? And how do I know for sure if I have another year of Diamond to look forward to?

A very confused Truly

I'd call again and speak to an "unbiased" CSR to read the record and tell me what's up. :keep fingers crossed:

All I know is what you posted. But what I think happened is that the "deal" to put you Dia through 05 was supposed to be adjusted manually but never was. So I think you are Dia through 06.

By the way, would you care to share the promo code for that Gold fast track?

Thanks for the advice guys. I will try again with a different CSR and see whether they tell me '05 or '06. Rut Dog is probably right about them forgetting to make the manual adjustment.

I don't think it's a good idea for me to give out the code; it is a promo specifically for my company's employees and if it got out of control, who knows what could happen to me. :( sorry about that!

I would recomend e-mailing, not calling.

I received a fast-track to Diamond e-mail offer from Hilton in October 03'. It was for 10 stays or 20 nights between October 15th & January 15th.

I sent in several e-mails before I completed the fast track. I got an e-mail from a CSR stating that the Diamond status, would be good through April 05.

I completed the fast track, got Diamond status, and received a Diamond card that had on it an expiration of April 06.

I sent another e-mail to Hilton, asking about this, and was told that the Diamond status would expire at the end of 12/04. I sent them the other e-mail that said April 05, and they backed off.

I ended up requalifying the hard way 30 stays 62 nights, but you bet I saved that first e-mail.
