Is there a trick to getting the seatmapper on the HP website to work reliably?

I've found that using Firefox I never get the seats that I select. When I use MSIE I get about 75% of the seats I choose.

I just got finished building a complex itinerary, spent time carefully selecting seats on 8 flights, then booked it. When I got the confirmation I found that I was only assigned 4 of the 8 seats I had selected. I tried to re-run the seatmapper from the confirmation page, but the changes didn't take.

Is there a trick to making this thing work consistently?

wow i hate saying this....try turning off your fire wall if you have one. I have not had trouble with the seat mapper but I can not check in HP online unless I turn off my norton firewall. Just do not forget to turn it back on asap.

Good idea... I'll give it a shot. I know that I was having some problems previously with ZoneAlarm blocking cookies, but never considered turning it all the way off.

The problem must be something specific to your system, as you're discussing. I use the seat mapper all the time and I rarely have a problem getting the seat that I selected.

Once in a while I have trouble selecting exit row seats, but usually everything works for me. This is with my firwall turned on.

I've had the same experience with FireFox. I just use MSIE when I'm going to purchase tickets from HP.
