Stayed this last weekend at the Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center in Chesterfield Missouri. Looks like this 20+ year old hotel has recently renovated the lobby and rooms.
As a gold staying on a rewards stay I was given the type of room I requested. Looks like a lot has been refreshed in the rooms: carpet, fixtures, mattress/bedding etc. The only things not updated were the sink and tile: which looked their age.
Rooms x22 and x23 are at one end and a short walk from the elevator. x23 has the stairs right next to it and x22 has a maintainence closet next to it. These would be the rooms I would request if staying again: not too close but not too far from elevator, rooms only on one side and emergency stairs close by.
Did not get a chance to check out any of the facilities or dining.
There is an Avis on sight.
Tons of shopping and dining within a 1-2 mile range with Chesterfield Mall and Chesterfield Commons a short distance away. (Chesterfield Commons is an almost 2 mile long strip mall with tons big-box retailers. Also 30+ restaurants and a 14 screen theater that opened in December 2004.)
