Hilton HHonors - Diamond Status with help from Customer Service

I just returned from San Juan, and noticed one of my stays (my 28th) had not posted. I was at the Hampton inn in San Juan for 2 nights, then was supposed to go to Ponce, but came down with the flu and didn't feel up to driving to the Southern part of the island. I rechecked into the Hampton (different Resv #). When I spoke to the Customer service rep, he was very understanding, but explained that when you check back into the same hotel, it only counts as one stay. Because I have been a Hilton Gold member for many years, he made an adjustment, as he could see my original Ponce reservation, but made it VERY clear that priceline, entertainment discounts, etc., although they show up as a stay and are part of the count you see, they are not considered for obtaining elite status.

All that said, I am now a very happy "Hilton Diamond" member thanks to a kind, understanding Hilton Customer Service agent.

Congrats on making diamond! I made it for the first time this year.

We'll be in San Juan for a week in February, at the Caribe Hilton. We plan on going to the rain forest, a snorkel trip, and the Rum Factory. Any suggestions on things we shouldn't miss while in the San Juan area?

There is an evening kayak trip at Luquillo beach that sounded interesting. We were on a cruise, then back in San Juan for 5 nights, but I got the flu, which slowed us down from doing fun stuff. The museum in Ponce is also a big attraction.
