Hi All,
We are near the end of our DONE4 trip and my friend has gone to happy with her shopping and I am afraid we will need to add another suitcase in London (Total 5 Pieces).
I will have to switch over to CX (Originally book on BA) for the LHR-HKG sector.
At the moment the availability does not look good for D (or any Business Class J/C/I) But for some reason my friend got confirmed from the WL in less than 24 hours (She is only Silver) and I am GOLD Marco Polo.(I am STILL WL)
Just want to know what is the LINK to check for Fare Class code Availability. so I can monitor the situation in the next few days.
Thanks

Welcome back, I suppose, newcx12345.
Sorry, just wondering, what was the 'urgent' question again?

Yes, Welcome Back, newcx12345.... Longtime no hear...I seemed to have missed all your posts previously!
But we remember you and your friend's shopping trip in London and the extra suitcase that you have asked us once before....(!)
NEWCX12345 was the first thing off my mind when I first read this post :D

"At the moment I am waiting on 2 Z Class upgrades from HKG-JFK for dep in around 11 days time. I managed to get 1 Z Class confirmed and I have being checking the F and A Class count for the past few days and it showed F3A2 for many days, so I thought it will be OK for the other one to clear or if worst comes to worst just do an on-dep Upgrade.
However I just noted the following:
HKG JFK CX888 F0 A0 J1 C1 D1 I1 Y0 B0 H0 K0 M0 LC VC SC NC QC OC [34C]
I actually checked the seatmap and noted that there are still 4 seats available (unassigned). It seems that Y will be 99% overbook and J is still open (given I and D Class is still available).
I just want to check does CX usually hold off all the F Class seats for last minute use on busy routes? (It is unusal for people not to pre-assign in F and there are like 4 seat unassigned ) Well maybe there are 2 couples and they don't want to assign their seats because the open seat assignment are as follows:
A D G K
: : 1:NA : 1: :
:NAW : 2: NA : 2:NAW :
so only 1D/2A/2G and 2K are available, so for couples there are no 2 seats together except 2G and 2K (which is not desirable due to the aisle)"
It seems you were once an expert :D

Please note that booking engines aren't as accurate as calling CX res yourself!

He's actually ok. He just ruffled some feathers in his earlier er, life...
He seems to ask countless number of questions on all his travels, hotels etc and doesn't seem to contribute much back to FT that's all. Well, that's what some people seemed concerned about.
Now that rtwtravel is finishing the remainder of his RTW, maybe he'd contribute some positive experiences from his travels? It's better to give than to receive?

To be fair, the moniker newcx12345 isn't actually banned anymore, if you scroll through threads that he posted in previously.

The late B Watson only gave him a time-out really and not an all out ban. But then again, there's really no way to verify this since our late moderator is no more...

I agree completely with Guy Betsy that we ought to cut newcx12345 some slack, to see if he will give back to FlyerTalk by reporting carefully on his travels.
While I suspect it may not exactly be within the rules of FT to have multiple handles, that's an issue for FT management. I would hope that as long as old/newcx posts appropriately, a tacit amnesty would be applied.
p.s.: I was nearly tempted to comment that the former moderator gave himself a permanent time-out; however, some would think that to be a tasteless remark, so I shall not make such a comment.

You have been tempted already otherwise you wouldn't have even mentioned it.
It would be appropriate for you to amend your message...

Well it does seem that rtwtravel/newcx has tiptoed away, for a while at least.
p.s. to G.B.: I find no reason to redact any portion of my post.
