Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - MPC Club Miles for BA Discount Economy
I was looking at a fare on BA's UK site to fly GLA to HKG, and when I got to the conditions page it said that the fare was not eligible for BA Executive Club tier credits.
Looking at the Asia Miles earning table, BA subclasses K/L/M/R only earn asia miles at a 50% rate.
I don't know what the subclass of this discount fare is so my questions are:
1) If the fare is indeed in the K/L/M/R subclasses, will I earn Club Miles, and if so, will it be at the 50% accrual or 100% accrual?
2) Is there a way of finding out the subclass of the discount fare on the BA website, or do you know of any other UK website that will show the subclass of the ticket before purchasing the ticket?
3) If the conditions say that the ticket will not earn BA Exec Club tier credits, do you think it's possible that the fare is in a lower subclass to K/L/M/R and will earn neither asia miles nor club miles?
I tried opodo, travelbag, ebookers and none of them seem to show the subclass before paying for the ticket.
Thanks in advance!

Yes, 50%.
For the other questions you would need to ask on the experts on the BA forum.

Yes. You can call BA direct and ask them!

Yes. You can call BA direct and ask them! But be careful not to actually book that way - they'll charge you an extra GBP25 for that!

I didn't say to book.. You can call and enquire, not give your name and find out all details .. ie fare booking codes etc.
Yes I can confirm on a recent MAN - LHR sector in discounted BA economy I got a pitiful 75 club miles and 0.5 sectors.. can earn more than that in a round of drinks.

speaking of miles from BA .... I have had nothing but problems with separately bought BA tickets this year: the miles for BA segments on tickets bought as one itineary (usually CX tickets ex Asia with BA connections flights from LHR) always post 3-10 days after the CX segments of the same tickets, no problems there.
BUT: a number of separately booked BA flights (booked as e-tickets on ba.com) gave me huge headaches. First of all they take ages to post, then CX reports different classes: my e-ticket says M class, CX says they were N (no mileage), etc. not a single BA flight posted timely and/or accurately with Asia Miles. Last but not least, my claim for missing mileage LHR-CDG was rejected because "BA does not fly there". Had to call again to set things right.
Running an airline these days seems to be mostly an IT problem, so why are the airlines so bad at IT/it??? Most seem to control their bit of turf, but interaction between airlines is still a dismal science.

2. The BA website won't give you the fare class, with the exception of a very few fares where the basis is shown as part of the booking conditions. As Guy Betsy says, you will have to call BA.
3. BA EC tier points can only be earned on Y,B and H fares. Beware that super cheap BA fares book into N - which judging from the inof you have posted will earn you nothing.
BA were pioneers in the every expanding trend of discount miles for discount economy. Rightly or wrongly they have a premium passanger focus and have stuck to it pretty rigidly.
