Starwood Preferred Guest - Dubai-- Creek or Beach??

Going to Dubai in August for two weeks with Miss yyzlhr. Which Sheraton should we stay at? Beach, Creek or a week at each? The price right now for Tower Room is pretty much the same at both. There is no business involved in this trip -- purely sun, shopping and golf.

I personally prefer the Creek location because you can walk from there to the most interesting parts of the city IMHO. Even in August, during the evening, you can stroll along the creek, take an abra to Bur Dubai and the heritage area and visit the Gold Souk. Not sure that it would be interesting for 2 weeks though, so perhaps spending a week at each property might be best. Just beware that there are myriad construction sites around the Jumeira, Um Suquiem areas and the work continues almost 24 hours per day.

Given that in August it is about 130F degrees and starting to get quite humid, you might want the beach just to spend the whole day in the ocean or the pool. I can't imagine golfing in that weather, but the beach hotel is close to some fabulous golf courses, the Majlis where the big pro tournament is and Montie's course, the Montgomery.

But the Creek is a fine hotel if you go that route.
