I received a postcard today with an offer to convert 20,000 Starpoints to 35,000 Asia Miles. For some reason, I can't seem to complete a search today on FT and so if this information is already out there, please forgive me!

Is anyone familiar with the Asia Miles (http://www.asiamiles.com) program. Does this conversion seem to offer any special benefits, do you think? The usual bonus for Starpoint to airline conversion is 5,000 for each 20,000. If you put your miles through Asia Miles first and then back to an airline, does it seem there is an extra benefit?

T & C state that this offer is valid between December 1 and February 28, 2005.

Here's a pretty good post outlining the value of the Asia Miles program:

Thank you so much! I also found a thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=378783) started by Shareholder on this offer in the Cathay Pacific forum (for anyone else interested).
