I have a very good friend in the USA and I am in Australia. We would like to chat by cell phone with maybe the camera feature. I was wondering:
1. Are there any good plans to allow international chat between the two countries? We have Telstra, Optus and Vodaphone, the US has completely different companies. Looking for a good deal. Do Americans have to pay for incoming calls from overseas?
2. Does the camera feature work between Australia and USA?
Any other useful hints?
Thanks!
Yes it works
But how deep do your pockets have to be, strikes me it will not be cheap

1. No cellphone calls US-Australia are particularly cheap however if you call at 'free night and weekends' from the US using a pre-paid calling card you can do it pretty cheaply. If you can get unlimited free calls on an Ozzie phone (Optus used to do free weekends - not sure if they still do) you could also use a cheap phonecard from Oz. In the US it is standard to pay to receive all incoming calls - some plans have free night & weekend calls (in and out), there are a few free inbound calls type plans but these are expensive and unusual.
2. Try and see. I don't know anyone who has done it but then again I don't know anyone who has been particularly interested in doing it.
