Hilton HHonors - Reward Stay--Do you get FF miles?

We just completed a Point Stretcher stay at a Doubletree in NY state. We gave them my husband's SW RR # and I was under the impression that we would get the .5 credit, but the website doesn't show it. Can anyone clarify this for me--before I call Hilton Honors?
As a side note, this stay was the result of a free Gold membership from SWA. It is good for 18 months and offers up to a total of 50,000 HH bonus points with 4 stays between Sept. 2004 and Jan. 2005. We used the first 12,000 earned for the Point Stretcher award. The room rate was $109, so I think it was a good deal. We still have a child in high school, so I doubt that we'll be able to keep up the Gold--not enough stays in a year--but this is a wonderful benefit for us right now.
Thanks for your help!

I have been told only points are earned on award stays. I guess a good thing to do would be to switch one's earning to only points just before you do an award stay and then back to air miles and points when you return to paid stays?
It seems to vary in practice: some properties give you the miles, full-on, for a reward stay, while others (like the Waldorf=Astoria) NEVER give you miles, and go to great pains to make sure that even if you wheedle your FF# into the record, it is deleted upon checkout. I find that miles show up about 50% of the time in North America, and about 25% of the time overseas.
Have fun, and don't be discouraged just because the rules say NO. You don't get things if you don't ask.....

I have gotten miles for reward stays, but don't expected. You will get points for incidentals, however.

Many thanks for the speedy replies! Since it seems so variable, I'll call to clarify on this one and see what happens as we go along.... ;)

What are you going to clarify?
The terms and conditions has ALWAYS said that you do NOT get miles (and rental car partner credit) on awards stays. The stayers who have actually gotten has received them in error because the system has not fully recognized the stay to be an award.

I never expected Airline Miles for rewards stays. Never gave them an airline-award-#.
But I always get some Hilton Honor Points for reward stays. ^

Well, I went to the Terms & Conditions section of HHonors website and found:
14. Points and stay/night credits and airline frequent flyer mileage credit may not be earned when redeeming a frequent flyer award, awards of other travel Partners or other promotional offerings using discount or free certificates unless otherwise stated on the Certificate. When redeeming an HHonors reward, the member may earn points for incidental charges for the stay at Hilton, Conrad, Doubletree, Embassy Suites Hotels, Hilton Garden Inn, and Hilton Grand Vacations Club hotels. Effective January 1, 2003, reward stays at all HHonors hotels will count toward VIP tier qualification. However, night credits may not be earned. Members will not earn frequent flyer mileage credit for HHonors hotel reward stays
So, I won't press for FF miles. It is a shame, though, that this is applied unevenly and that some stays receive the FF miles while others do not. Award stay versus paid stay would seem to be a simple criteria to be recognized by the system....but, I guess not.....

I have received miles for some of my HHonors awards stays, including for award stays at Hampton. But not all of them. Guess it was just an employee unfamiliar with the rules. tls

count your blessings that you sometimes get ff miles--don't expect them!
The best way seems to be to charge some incidentals to your room but even that is not guaranteed (I am batting 3 out of 4 reward stays getting miles too)! Makes up for the hassle of getting some second room charges credited recently but I still don't expect the miles, nor do I mind the inconsistency on this ;)

Don't think so. I've never gotten points while using a reward. Would be nice, but they trade points for $$$.

Look closely at your HHonors Gold card, I'll bet it's good until 02/06.
